NCRM Network for Methodological Innovation Web surveys for the general population: How, why and when? (also known as GenPopWeb)

You have received this email because you have either participated in a GenPopWeb event or you have expressed an interest in the network.
Lisa Calderwood, Peter Lynn, Caroline Roberts and myself have recently submitted a report with recommendations to the ESRC National Centre for Research Methods. The report:
- provides a summary of the main issues identified by the network (chapter 2),
- presents the key barriers to using web for surveys of the general population (chapter 3),
- proposes a research agenda for the social science community (chapter 4),
- argues the case for a UK probability-based web panel (chapter 5), and
- concludes with recommendations for an infrastructure for enabling a transition to web platforms in the UK (chapter 6).
